Master Dino Rosin trained alongside his brother Loredano, himself a famous Master Glassmaker. He worked by personally following all stages of the production process, from the glass composition to the cold working process in which he was at his best, becoming one of the best artists in the sector at an international level.
After Loredano's tragic death (1991), Dino, flanked by his son Diego and brother Mirco, continued the business by making solid glass sculptures, characterised by purity of material, simplicity of form and research into technique. All items were of the highest craftsmanship quality, both in terms of materials and design, combining the best Murano tradition with innovative and contemporary ideas and design. Since the 1990s, he was called to the United States and other parts of the world for courses and creative demonstrations, and his works are exhibited in important international art galleries.
Chalcedony is an imitation of semi-precious stones, of zoned agate in particular, whose striations and colour it restores. It is to Dino and Loredano Rosin that we owe the 'Alchemical' discovery of chalcedony, the secret of which, first realised in Murano in the 15th century, had been lost for a hundred and fifty years.
Lorsqu’on visite la Vetreria Venier, on a l’impression de se trouver dans un atelier de la Renaissance italienne, où la créativité des maîtres, la connaissance des matériaux, la rigueur, les requêtes des dames et des clients ainsi que l’obéissance révérencieuse des assistants se mêlaient dans un travail incessant.
Les figures dominantes y sont sans nul doute les maîtres verriers qui, dès leur plus jeune âge (10-12 ans), vouent leur existence à la matière incandescente. Vivent en eux des siècles d’expérience et de tradition, qu’ils font revivre par les quelques techniques (parfois par une seule) dans lesquelles ils sont spécialisés et pour lesquelles ils sont connus et estimés : certains sont experts en lustrerie, d’autres en sculptures, en vases… Leur réputation est parvenue jusqu’à d’importants chefs d’État et leurs œuvres sont exposées dans les musées les plus célèbres du monde entier.
